OK, what do you think might rouse some members of a vast, slow-moving herd to
action and anger?
Would it be one of their own attacking another?

How about, if after the attack, a sizable portion of the herd said "Hey! This shit actually goes on all the time, has for years, and we're pretty tired of it. Why are you guys all sticking your heads back down in the muck?"
Not that either? Really?
Well, how about this one, then? Imagine one of 'em decides to record the herd braying about options 1 and 2, including the brays of "everybody get their heads back down in this muck!" Say that one takes those brays out of the swamp and lets the little furry critters in the trees hear them. Do you think, of the three situations, this would be the one that would cause a by-God dinosaur stampede?
